Jim, CORE’s President and an Investment Advisor Representative with Asset Management Financial Services, Inc., is a member of the firm's Investment Committee. Over the course of 50 years in investment management, Jim’s extensive experience in the industry brings a broad economic perspective to the CORE investment committee.
A 25-year veteran of The Pioneer Group, Inc., Jim served on the Board of Directors, was the managing director of Pioneer Funds Marketing GmbH in Frankfurt, Germany and was also a member of the management board of the first mutual fund in Poland established in 1991.
Looking to create a unique method to serve individual investors, Jim founded Spencer International Advisors, Inc., in 1994, where he developed a boutique investment management firm specializing in creating the meaningful client/investor relationships.
Now as president of CORE and chairman of the investment committee, he continues his dedication to enhancing the lives of clients through education, communication, objectivity and service excellence.
Over the years, his service to various industry organizations includes positions with the District Business Conduct Committee of the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc., (now known as FINRA) and various committees of the Investment Company Institute in Washington, D.C.
Jim received a BA in economics from Hillsdale College in 1955, and was a 1978 member of AMP at Harvard Graduate School of Business.
Originally from Michigan, Jim lives in Belleair, Florida and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren. Extremely active in the community, he has served as chairperson for many charitable events including Abilities Guild Holiday Gala, Suncoast Hospice Charity Ball, UPARC Foundation’s Festival of Trees, and Morton Plant Mease Hospital Foundation Charity Ball. He served on the board for the Valspar PGA Golf Tournament and UPARC Foundation and was appointed to the Florida Endowment Foundation for Vocational Rehabilitation (The Able Trust) in 2008.
Jim enjoys travel, spending his summers in the South of France and visiting various points of interest within the United States.

Helen S. Rimensnyder

She is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and has more than 30 years experience in the financial services industry. She has extensive experience in investment research and strategy development and is a licensed insurance agent.
Helen’s banking and management experience spans over 22 years with community and commercial banks, working with individuals as well as commercial clients. She is a graduate of the Florida School of Banking. Prior to joining CORE, she was an Investment Advisor Representative with Spencer International Advisors, Inc.
Helen has served on the board and investment committee of the Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce and on the board of directors of PARC, Inc.
A life-long resident of Florida, Helen enjoys the arts, playing golf, tennis, and spending time with her family.

Wendy is CORE’s Chief Compliance Officer and an Investment Advisor Representative with Asset Management Financial Services, Inc. She is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and has more than 25 years’ experience in the investment management industry.
Upon graduating with a Master of Business Administration degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu in 1988, Wendy began her investment career at Cadinha & Co, Inc., a leading investment advisory firm headquartered in Hawaii. Prior to CORE, she was Vice President – Operations for Spencer International Advisors, Inc., where she was a founding member of the Board of Directors and member of the management committee.
Wendy is also President of Merit Investment Solutions, Inc., which provides investment advisory services to a private fund investing primarily in non-public securities.
Wendy is particularly dedicated to community involvement and philanthropic opportunities. She has held board and fundraising committee positions with numerous non-profit entities including Morton Plant Mease Health Care Foundation, Florida Blood Services Foundation, Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin, Suncoast Hospice Foundation, St. Cecelia Interparochial School and Clearwater Central Catholic High School.
Originally from Minnesota, Wendy enjoys staying active, traveling and spending time with her four children and granddaughter.

Dana L. Spoolstra
Read BioDana, Operations Manager, has 22 years of banking and accounting experience. Her responsibilities include processing all trading activity and client cash-flow and servicing operations and monitoring all transaction activity.
Dana was a branch supervisor for 11 years and an administrative assistant in corporate lending for two years at a large commercial bank in Clearwater. Prior to joining CORE, she was operations manager for Spencer International Advisors, Inc.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in classics and education from Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina. She also worked with a mission in Haiti to teach deaf children.
Originally from North Carolina, Dana lives in Clearwater with her husband Bill. She enjoys going on cruises with her family, spending time with her grand-nieces, performing in the bell choir at church and painting.

Al began his career as an electrical engineer with Texas Instruments. He then served as executive vice president and president for an international manufacturing company and he was a manager/partner for Blind Designs, PLC in South Africa. Prior to joining CORE, he was an Investment Advisor Representative with Spencer International Advisors, Inc.
Al holds a Bachelor’s of Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology and an MBA degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
The CORE Investment Management, LLC (CORE) investment committee includes chairman, James Spencer, Helen Rimensnyder, Wendy Spencer and Alfred Filskov. These members have an average tenure of greater than 25 years in the financial industry.
The committee also utilizes the specialized expertise of equity consultants. Consultant experience typically includes extensive capital markets experience with Wall Street firms, advanced business degrees, and industry professional certifications.
